Will Johns has been a champion of Blues and Rock worldwide for more than 15 years, playing in iconic venues and with some of the leading names in music. 2012 British Blues Award nominee for Best Original Blues Song with 'On My Back' from the "Count On Me" album, Will has formed his own power Blues Rock quartet and in 2012 recorded his second album "HOOKS & LINES" released in October. The new line up has taken to the English festival circuit , combining the cosmic Keys of Lee 'The Deal' Spreadbury, the earthy Drum tones of Chris Gale, and the pulsating Bass of Eric Rupert, with his own fiery vocals and electrifying guitar work. Will and his band are now working on songs for a live blues album.
Chris grew up in New Jersey, USA, and started hitting the skins in the school orchestra because it looked fun. After studying with Big Band drummer Joe Gary, the love for jazz was born. While navigating his way through most styles and genres of music, he finds himself at home with Will Johns. Chris has learned how to groove, and likes to cook with the lid on!.
Lee " The Deal" Spreadbury : A.K.A "Cosmic", is a mesmirizing Piano and Hammond B-3 player, hailing from the North-East of England. The past decade while exploring venues across every square inch of the British Isles and Europe, playing his unique mix of Blues, Jazz, Psychedelia and Soul. Lee stopped off at the studio recording a BBC Radio 2 Live Session with Mark Lammarr and is becoming a staple in the Brighton music scene..
Eric Rupert grew up in Ohio, USA watching his musical heroes on TV. His love for the low end took over and the Bass was the answer. Playing electric and acoustic double bass, he studied with Ray Brown and can count numerous amazing musicians as friends. Eric has enjoyed his career as bassist for Dizzy Gillespie, Dolly Parton, Slash and now The Will Johns Band. Will Johns music is close to Eric's heart with Will's great lyrics and musical changes that keep you guessing..
